Our History
The Navy League of Canada Bowmanville Branch and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Bowmanville have been active in the community since the autumn of 1981. We had our 40th anniversary in 2021 and hope to have a public gathering in the autumn of 2022 to celebrate.
In 2016, the Navy League Cadet Corps Challenger was formed as a sister for RCSCC Bowmanville. Lt. (NL) Scheshawna Lemaire was our founding Commanding Officer. Lt. (NL) Lemaire recently took on the role of Division Squadron Officer (DSO) responsible for a group of corps. Lt. (NL) Lemaire is responsible for Jeffries Squadron, which includes Challenger.
Due to reorganization, the DSO for Challenger is now Lieutenant-Commander (NL) Wayne H Closs, CD
Due to staffing shortages, Challenger cadets are currently invited to meet with the Northumberland corps in Port Hope, 17 Mill Street South Port Hope, Mondays from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
